In Pakistan, a student’s lynching for alleged blasphemy was a new low — but no surprise
“ZAIDA, Pakistan — Even in his ancestral village here in northwestern Pakistan, where 23-year-old Mashal Khan was the pride of the community, the pointed finger of blasphemy made him an instant pariah.
As word reached Zaida earlier this month that Khan, a journalism student at a university in nearby Mardan city, had been fatally beaten and shot by an enraged student mob for supposedly blaspheming against Islam, neighbors shrank from his family in suspicion, and the local cleric refused to lead a funeral prayer.
Even as officials and politicians traveled to Zaida to place wreaths on Khan’s grave, most remained wary of criticizing the anti-blasphemy law. The last official who did so, Punjab Gov. Salman Taseer, was assassinated in 2011 by his own bodyguard, who said he had acted to defend Islam. The guard was executed, but devotees view him as a martyr and continue to flock to his shrine near the capital, Islamabad.”
From the Washington Post
What that says is, Mashal Khan and his family were well-liked in their community, but when Mashal Khan was accused of Blasphemy their friends turned from them and the local holy-man would not read a prayer.
Just what is blasphemy? The Creator said, “You will not kill.”
Don’t you think it’s time for a change? *How many deaths does it take until you know that too many people have died? 70 Pakistanis have been killed for blasphemy since 1990.
Why would the people of Pakistan fear blasphemy? Remember, fear, anger, hate and vengeance are the cornerstones of evil and Satanism. Don’t fear the other religions. Don’t hate or fear someone who doesn’t think like you. Learn from them.
People of Pakistan please be aware that this kind of hatred is not only unjust and immoral, but keeps your country in the dark ages. Fear, anger, hate and vengeance make Middle Eastern countries easy to take advantage of. There are evil, greedy people who are able to take advantage of Muslim countries. It’s a trap that’s like abuse that gets passed down through the generations. Only this abuse is passed down through the government.
My mission in life is World Peace and we can get there if we stop the chain of abuse. Even when the abuse comes from a government or religion.
Hate is a learned emotion.
The Honorable Mohammed would be sad if he saw the state his homeland is in.
Do you realize all of the major religious figures of the past 2,000 years all came out of the same families? Judaism, Christianity and Islam all have the same father, Abraham, the same beliefs, and the same Commandments.
Organized religion is neither right nor wrong. How can any ONE Religion be the only true religion? How can they ALL be the one true religion?
Everyone in the world who belongs to an Organized Religion thinks they alone have the key.
God, the Creator, is sad for Mashal Khan a 23-year-old Pakistani man beaten to death for questioning his religious beliefs: because God, the Creator, does not need to be worshipped to know who He is.
I am supposed to repeat what I have been saying all along. There is no key! Heaven is NOT A CLUB. You don’t need to be a member of any organized religion to get into Heaven. Blasphemers will be welcomed too.
We learn to be religious, often by people who abuse us. There is no one religion that assures entrance into Heaven. ANYONE who wants to go to Heaven, can go to Heaven.
Please believe me when I say is I will NEVER start a religion, but, just as an example –
Suppose someone started a religion that said men cannot learn, they do not have the capacity. It is unwise and wasteful to educate men. Men with facial hair should be publicly shamed. Then he could say, if you don’t worship my way, you can be beaten and killed. Then he could beat and kill you for not worshipping his way.
I hope you understand my point.
That’s not love, that’s hate. It’s not joy, but anger. It would also be judgmental, accusing men for the world’s wars, famine and disease. Thus far, the education of men has not brought peace and joy.
The sad fact is, all of the world’s organized religions pattern themselves after Satanism. Satanists use pain to teach. They believe sexual and emotional abuse and total neglect is the best way to parent. Satanists teach this because abuse and neglect produces followers, not questioners. For World Peace to become a reality, we have to have a tolerance for all religions. That means question and learn.
Organized religions of the world should be bold enough to accept any followers who believe in their message. And if you don’t want to join, that’s okay, too.
The Creator doesn’t care how we worship, or even if we worship.
God has asked me to ask you to make Mashal Khan’s tragic death a starting point for some long over-due talk. I was thinking candle light vigils in Mashal Khan’s memory; and groups of women, who want to make a difference in this life so their children will have a better life, should be allowed to make their voices heard.
Violence is a popular way to spread religious beliefs; and God, Allah, disapproves of violence, especially violence done in His name.
Most of my readers are from the Middle East, but it no longer shows up that way. Someone tampered with the search engine in that area.
* “How many deaths does it take till we know that too many people have died.” Is a quote from a song I co-wrote with Bob Dylan called “Blowing in the Wind”
