I’ve decided to weigh in on drones, since I am the one who invented them. What happened was, a reconnaissance plane went down. I was asked if I had any ideas as to how to recover the pilot and my response was, “Why are those things even manned?” The discussion that followed resulted in drones. I named them drones for the worker bees and the people in A Brave New World. (I was wrong about the Brave New World part.) but I think it’s a good name, none the less. The pilot was recovered and later killed by the man I knew as John Alexander because he was about to out him.
At any rate, I think I may be qualified to weigh in. Just as Rocket-launchers, Ospreys, and Tanks are military tools, so are Drones. Satellites and Drones have no real, cost-effective purpose in the business world. Individuals and companies should have no access to either. No good can come of it. There is too much at stake, too much room for fatal error and sabotage.
It should be illegal for individuals or industries to own and operate Drones.
And just so you know, it was control from a satellite over-riding the computer, that caused the crash of that self driving-car. If you buy a self-driving car know that you will be at the mercy of a person who can control it remotely with a satellite. I was in on the creation of the cars until I realized they were being created as another means of murder.
The manufacture of driverless cars with no manual over-ride should also be illegal.
